Koh Yao Noi village is the main village on the island, but it’s still very small. ATMs, a 7-11 and several places to eat are available here
Koh Yao Noi village centres around a roundabout at the junction between two roads. At this junction is a 7-11, which has an ATM as well as ice-creams, chocolates, snacks and air-con if you just need to cool down.
7-11 has basic medicines like Nurofen, and there’s also a Pharmacy in the village and Yanitha Clinic and Boontida Clinic.
Opposite the 7-11 on the other side of the roundabout is the excellent restaurant Je T’aime, which serves both French and Thai cuisine. Next door is the Step One Bar.
There are several other simple restaurants and cafes further along the road away from the roundabout. Cafe de Iraya has real coffee if you’re craving a cappucinno.
The Garden Cafe is another friendly restaurant serving Thai food and juices, with a cosy garden if you want to sit outside.
Krua Koh Yao specialises in crab and has shady seating to sit back and relax.
There are also various street food stalls which set up each evening – look out for the roti seller – and usually a market during the day.
Towards the edge of the village is a large Government Savings Bank – you can’t miss it as it’s bright pink. This also has ATM machines.
